Shay Law is proud to announce that attorney Nick Williams has been published in the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association Trial Journal for Summer 2026. His article, “The Admissibility of Evidence of Intoxication in Civil Proceedings,” examines one of the most complex and highly contested evidentiary issues in Illinois civil litigation.

The publication highlights Mr. Williams’ extensive litigation experience handling serious injury and wrongful death cases throughout Illinois while examining how Illinois courts evaluate intoxication evidence in civil proceedings. Drawing from decades of case law, the article explores the balance between relevance and unfair prejudice when alcohol-related evidence is introduced at trial.

The publication also provides practical guidance for attorneys handling evidentiary disputes, trial strategy, expert testimony, and comparative negligence issues in civil litigation.

At Shay Law, we believe strong advocacy starts with deep legal knowledge and preparation. Publications like this reflect our commitment to staying at the forefront of Illinois litigation practice while continuing to advocate for individuals and families facing serious injuries, wrongful death, medical negligence, workers’ compensation disputes, and other complex legal matters.

The Illinois Trial Lawyers Association is one of the state’s leading organizations for trial attorneys, and publication in its journal is a meaningful professional recognition within the Illinois legal community.

We congratulate Nick Williams on this accomplishment and are proud to see his work contributing to legal education and trial practice across Illinois.
