“Our clients come to us at one of the worst points in their life. They’ve suffered some kind of injury and so they can’t work and in turn can’t pay their bills or the insurance company is giving them the run around. The structure of their life has been ripped apart. They look to me to make things right, to fight for them. They trust me to advocate for them and so I become totally invested in their case.”
Stephanie Shay, daughter of Tim Shay, has been around the law all her life. She began working for her father at the age of 17 doing odd jobs around the office. As an undergrad, during the summer, she handled paralegal work for the law firm.
While a law student at Northern Illinois University College of Law, Stephanie held a graduate assistantship working for the Department of Affirmative Action and Diversity Resource Center. She learned a great deal about employment law, doing the research for in-house cases of discrimination.
Stephanie enjoys gardening and running. She has volunteered at a local animal shelter and is the owner of two shelter dogs.
